The bread does the work here, which figures: the same team has run Bartine across the water for eight years. Sandwiches lean cautiously experimental rather than clever for its own sake.

Doors open at eleven and the counter is often bare by three, so lunch is best taken early.

I don’t understand why everyone is upset about the amount of sauce or filling on their sandwich. It’s a generous portion, which makes it even more delicious. You can tell everything is homemade and they use high quality ingredients. I don’t know if people have done shopping recently? Prices are high, especially for good / organic produce. I think the price quality is very fair. Also loved the shrub.

I love it, I’ve tasted almost every sandwich and it’s something I look forward everytime I’m planning to go. So fresh and homemade. The coffee and lemonade is very good as well.

I liked the sandwiches. Nice atmosphere and lovely staff ! -There is also a vegetarian option. The matcha 🍵 was delicious too :)

Today I visited Popolo for the first time. I ordered the Zucchini sandwich. Considering the price, the"hipster" look, and some reviews, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I was a bit dissappointed after trying their sandwich. I usually go to Senese caffè 1942 to buy a focaccia (which is just a minute walking from here) and I really enjoy their sandwiches. I thought it would be good to try something new at Popolo. The sandwich had a rich filling, but was quite soggy because over the amount of sauce perhaps? The result was a wet-ish bread without any crisp and a lot of fillings. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich definitely was not awful and it has lots of potential. I would just recommend improving the bread/recipes a bit more. I hope to try it again somewhere in the future...for now I will probably not return.

You must be prepared to spend your entire lunch break standing in the queue...my experience was over 35min...The sandwich are really good luckily but won't come back for that reason..it's a shame
