Coffee and something sweet, sat down, unhurried. That's fika, and it's the whole point of this tiny shop, small enough that you smell the cinnamon buns from the street.

Charlie Ter Burg bakes kanelbullar, kladdkaka and chokladbollar from her mother's family recipes. She's twenty, half Swedish, and used to run a corner of an ice cream shop in Benoordenhout before this.

Love love love this place! If feels like you are in a scandanavian country once you enter the door. The pastries are to die for and the cheese sandwich I tried was delicious as well. Definitely recommend!

Loved my stop at Charlie’s Fika — especially the cardamom bun, which was perfectly soft, fragrant, and not overly sweet. Great little spot for a proper fika moment, with good coffee and a cozy, relaxed living room vibe. Definitely worth coming by if you’re in the area.

I love this café and its owner. The pastries are top notch and you can feel they have a homemade flavour to them. But what I love MOST is Charlie’s very visible love and very genuine attachment to everything she bakes (you can sense that from the way she describes to me a certain pastry I am curiously inquiring about). Seeing someone pour so much heart to what do truly makes me so happy.
