One chef, four courses, whatever the boats brought in

There's no line cooks here, no expediter shouting orders. Just Alan Kaye, alone in the open kitchen on Langgata, working through a four-course seafood tasting built entirely around that week's local catch.

The menu shifts as the fish do rather than sitting fixed on a card. Twenty-five seats keep the room tight and the kitchen visible from anywhere you sit. It runs 1,250 NOK, and it's a single cook's instincts, not a formula.

It is a small and upscale place. I have to mention not everything foamy means Michelin level I advice trying other textures like crunchy or temperatures. Best wishes to the chef. Thanks for the complementary dessert it was a nice surprise flavors and textures was just heaven ✨ Reservation adviced!

Due to sickness, the chef Alan were both serving and cooking for us this evening. That did not stop this from being a wonderful dinner. Alan is a hardworking lad with proper British humor, love it! Did the 6-course with interesting and very nice flavors, favorites were the halibut and the cheese platter(!). Also serving Stavangers best Cava, not the sweet and horrible stuff. My company is gluten intolerant but that was no problem at Broken. Keep up the good work, Chef! Recommended 👍⭐️

Two couples for dinner October 2025. We all had the 7 course and the accompanying wine pairings. Fantastic service. Great seafood. The wine package was almost too much - perhaps smaller glasses (I know, sounds strange but we drank a lot of wine). Pairings were good. Would definitely recommend if you want fine dining and love seafood in a relaxed atmosphere.

What a wonderful restaurant - a combination of outstanding service, delicious and well considered seafood dishes (plus amazing desserts) and a wonderful selection of accompanying wines. From start to finish we felt welcome and well looked after. Thank you for a very special experience!

The hidden gem in Stavanger? Michelin star in 1 - 2 years? As we enter the restaurant from street level, we are welcomed by a calm and professional sraff member (turns out it is our waiter and sommelier for the evening). The restaurant is not big, and estimate that it xan serve 30+ people? Clean, elegant borderline minimalistic style. Partially open kitchen and the chef is busy in the kitchen. We agree to go with the 7 course option, and wine pairing. Easy start with their own sourdough bread and butter. Next pre course is full of flavour and start to demonstrate the evening potential. Then the disches and perfect wine pairing lift us from one level to the next. Perfect scallops that have been marinaded into perfection! Local ocean seawater cray fish (typically fushed at 100+ meter, not the North American freshwater mud crawler...), served with extremely tasty sauce and garnish, moving over to Halibut that had just the right texture and aroma. The next dish mixed fish, beats, garnish, urb and ocean flavour in one serving. Very tasty. First dish in desert direction. Spicy flower and creamstyle sweat tasting dish that takes you through a travel of sweat and somewhat spice flavoured journey, packaged in crunchy and creamy textures. Progressing over to beautiful presentation of suffle made of fluffyness mixed with pistachio flavour and melted chocolate. Yummy! To finish it al off we got the very balanced cheese platter, serving cheese from Wales, Norway and centeal Europe. First red wine of the evening, complimenting the bluecheese the most. Loved it, looking forward to the next visit!
