Maija

Wibeke Krohn's second Byhaven shop, all womenswear and accessories
Krohn already runs Alvar & Maija a few doors east, spreading Nygårdsanna, Henrik Vibskov, Marimekko and Bitte Kai Rand across two floors. Maija strips that down to one focus: clothing, jewellery, sunglasses and prescription frames, washbags and small leather goods for people who buy less and keep it longer.
It took over the unit Zizzi left behind in the Byhaven centre on Olav Tryggvasons gate. The opening party pulled a real crowd, not the usual mall-unit shrug, which says something about how much Krohn's name still carries in Trondheim retail.
Good to know
- Open until 20:00 on weekdays, later than the rest of Midtbyen's independents.
- The original Alvar & Maija is a five-minute walk east at Olav Tryggvasons gate 4 and carries the Nordic design and homeware side.

Clean and open store, lots of nice things to choose from even if some of the prices were a bit.. steep? What stood out the most was that one of the employees was dressed in outerwear and looked like a customer studying things, before he came up behind us and mumbled something completely incomprehensible? I guess he asked if we had received any help, but we were a bit put out haha
