Saasna
★ 4.4 · 1,059 reviews Doha Opened Opening date unknown
Qatari classics done modern, in Msheireb
Saasna cooks traditional Qatari dishes with what the kitchen calls a modern lens. Still recognisably local, not a museum-piece version of it. Michelin Selected again in the 2026 guide.
It opens early for coffee and breakfast and stays open through late dinner, which is unusual for a restaurant carrying this kind of Michelin attention.

Great meal! We walked past this restaurant during a summer evening. It was very quiet inside so was initially skeptical but the food was spectacular. We ordered the dates salad and the harmour machboos to share. Having eaten both dishes many times in Dubai, the Qatari version was light, fluffy and not greasy. Ingredients were first rate and we finished the meal with scoops of saffron, kharnfarnoush and tahini ice cream. Great recommendations and service by our waiter Hassan. Well worth a visit when in Doha.

I visited Saasna with a group of friends for breakfast, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The food was good, and the service matched it—attentive and welcoming throughout our visit. A special mention to Aisa, who took great care of us and made sure everything ran smoothly. That said, it would be even better if there were more variety in the breakfast menu to choose from. With a bit more selection, the experience could easily go from good to excellent. Overall, a nice spot to start the day with friends.

Excellent food, really delicious and plentiful! The main dish we've got (Lamb and rice) could be good for 2 if you're not very hungry, so it's great value as well. The service provided by Aisa was amazing! She was always attentive and spoke good English. They are in the Michelin guide (they don't have any stars, but they are in the Selected Restaurants section for good cooking and I agree) The only room for improvement, I think, is the place itself. It's a very cold and bright white lights kind of place, not very cozy. Also there wasn't any music playing and since the place doesn't have a lot of decoration, it's only stones and glass panels (no fabrics like in curtains or rugs) it's very echo-y.

Went for lunch here after my training - ordered shrimp majboos & lemonade. Portions are large for 1 person - majboos with spicy sauce was delicious & shrimps were juicy. Hassan was kind & attentive. Even offered complimentary dessert which tasted really good with a right amount of sweetness.

Had an amazing experience at Saasna Qatari Restaurant — a Michelin-recognized spot with truly authentic Qatari flavors! We tried the lamb margoog, rich and perfectly spiced, the SAASNA salad which was fresh and vibrant, and the hamour majboos that was cooked beautifully with fragrant rice and seasoning. Every dish felt genuine and full of flavor. The service was warm and attentive, especially by Aisa, who took great care of us and made the whole experience even better. As a lovely touch, they served a complimentary dessert at the end — a sweet surprise and the perfect finish to the meal. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy real Qatari cuisine with top-tier hospitality. Will definitely be coming back!
