A quick review of one of my favourite restaurants in Doha. A friend recommended we try The Salt Road in the Andaz Hotel in West Bay and I’m really glad we did. I’ve visited for an à la carte lunch and also attended a Friday Brunch, on both occasions it has been excellent. The restaurant is light and airy with a good atmosphere and should you so wish, a view of the Chefs preparing your food. The food is superbly presented with a great choice and a South African theme. My favourite has to be the various steak cuts they offer, including at Brunch. The liquid beverages are free flowing and there’s a great selection of cocktails. There are 3 package levels available to suit every pocket and the Brunch price is highly competitive. On both occasions Heinrich has guided my party expertly through the experience. Ms Caroline and Ms Sumitra also ensured that we left as truly satisfied customers. I’ll definitely be back, soon……

The staff (Amidat, Alilia and Henrich)were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The food was absolutely delicious — beautifully presented and full of flavor. Every dish felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. You can really tell that the team here cares about both the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back soon and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and warm service!

Tried the business lunch at Salt Road and was really impressed. It’s a great new addition to Doha’s lunch scene — the price is very reasonable, the food is excellent, and the service is friendly and attentive. The South Africa cuisine restaurant is in a brand-new hotel, which adds to the overall experience with a fresh, stylish atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit and I’ll be coming back!

I had a wonderful dining experience at The Salt Road. They served complimentary bread on a rock salt slab, paired with unique butters and different salts on the side, which was a creative and memorable touch. I also appreciated how the staff shared the origin stories behind these elements, adding depth to the experience. The service was attentive and professional, and both the taste and presentation of the food were excellent. The ambience was warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a good meal. Overall, The Salt Road delivered a well-rounded and enjoyable dining experience. Ambita took really good care of us, would love to visit again.

The brand new sparkling Andaz Doha has only been open for 6 months and has introduced the ground floor restaurant concept called the Salt Road. The design is lovely where the designer has combined earthy tones and introduced a few styles and stronger reds and blues in the open kitchen that works really well. The table and seating is in general well arranged with many cosy corners and large family style tables and even a private room for groups. The staff were superb, friendly and knowledgeable and welcoming. The menu is well balanced and apart from the Seabass was really tasty. The sourdough bread was yummy and the three salt’s served were delicious. So why not 5 stars? Well I felt it was extremely expensive and the main course a disappointment. The wines by glass are ridiculously expensive as are the cocktails. As stated the design is beautiful and staff excellent and our starters very good, but the value is questionable at the price point. Apparently the brunch is brilliant! The lobby is gorgeous as is the pool area. Enjoy
