The counter bistro squeezed in next to Tart

À Côté means next door, and that's exactly where it sits: right beside Tart on Calea Victoriei, across from Știrbei Palace. It's a narrow room with a stainless counter for watching the kitchen work, plus a couple of outdoor tables.

The menu stays short. Signature sandwiches, brunch plates until 4pm, a few starters to share. Bread and brioche buns are baked in house, most dishes come with a salad on the house, and the beef is the one to order.

Great food, good value for money. Steak was delicious and cooked well, nice sauce too. Staff was kind and prompt, if a bit apathetic, but overall a five star experience for a quick bite.

Food is great (5⭐), the steak + sauce is a great combo. Staff was rude though, I wouldn't come again solely for this reason: rushing, impolite, seemed angry and unwelcoming.
