The sound system is the whole point

Groov skips the kitchen gimmick and builds the night around the speakers. It calls itself a hi-fi bar, right on Place de l'Indépendance, and the sound is the reason people stay past one drink.

The cocktail list turns with the season, and the food leans urban rather than French bistro, think sliced filet and shared plates instead of a set menu. Kitchen runs until 1am, and local promoters now run karaoke and game nights here, so it's become one of the Plateau's regular event spots.

An absolutely beautifully decorated restobar with delicious food and impeccable service. The owners have really created an unforgettable space with beautiful lighting and decor that packaged together creates an amazing atmosphere and vibe. This has to be one of the best spots in Dakar for an upmarket evening out. The food is delicious and we sampled pretty much everything on the menu. The cocktails are also just brilliant. I highly recommend making a reservation well in advance as it's small. Come early at like 9-10pm to eat. The party only really starts after midnight.

Can’t miss in Dakaar. Hifi bar that competes with the best over the world. Sound is incredible, ambience, food, crowd. Everything on point. Hats off.

We have been got up there because of the band, I really like their performance, a real raw jazz. The prices are so high that we couldn't even ordered, took some drinks only. Good looking place, but extremely expensive!!!

We were there for a girls night out and we really enjoyed it.. Highly recommended to make a reservation, we stayed up a long time before getting places around the bar.. But we weren’t bothered since we just discovered the place and we spent more time dancing than sitting haha
