Café Imperiet opened in 2025 on Kyrkogatan, in a space that once housed Höga Nords Café and later the record shop Discreet Music.

It shares the courtyard with Champagnebaren, Bar Bruno and Unity Jazz, pouring coffee, wine and deli plates from 11am daily with a francophile lean.

We had Affogato, Macchiato, Tomato Soup + Grilled Cheese, and a cake. Everything was perfect and the service was also top notch. The coffees are smaller than other places but we found it charming.

This is truly one of Gothenburg's favorite places. We slipped into the courtyard two days before Christmas. Sat comfortably under the heat lamps. Good wine with delicious pork krill. The waiter was super cute and came out to check on us from time to time.
