Homebaked fika with a Moroccan twist near Vasaplatsen
Mormors opened in January 2025 on Götabergsgatan, a short walk from Vasaplatsen. Friends Zakaria Chihani and Herman Friess run the place together.
The menu mixes classic Swedish fika with Moroccan touches. Grilled sandwiches with North African lamb sausage sit next to cinnamon buns and other traditional pastries.

Very cute and cozy café! ☕️ We came here for morning coffee and breakfast and really enjoyed it. The staff was kind and welcoming, there are plenty of places to sit, and it wasn’t crowded at all. The café is clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated with lots of warm lamps. It’s also nice and quiet, so you can actually sit and have a conversation without having to talk over loud music. The coffee was great, and we really enjoyed the sandwiches as well ☕. The menu is available as soon as you enter, which makes it easy to see what they offer before ordering. I also really liked that there is water and glasses available at the entrance, so you can simply pour yourself a glass whenever you want. Definitely a lovely spot for a relaxed breakfast or morning coffee! 🤍

I loved Mormors (grandma’s). I’m visiting from the US, and thought the atmosphere and vibes of the cafe were lovely. The two guys running the cafe are incredibly sweet and bake all of the pastries themselves. I can definitely recommend the salmon toast and the Sylvia cake.
