Bruin Café & Co opened on Gerechtigkeitsgasse in mid-March 2026, founded by Ricardo Daniel around a short list: filter coffee, espresso, matcha, tea, beer, sweet pastries and pretzel sandwiches.

No expanded food menu here. Bruin is betting that doing coffee well is enough to stand out on a street already packed with cafés.

Had a nice latte in the morning - it was open before most other cafes. I decided to also buy one of the Brezel sandwiches with lox and I am so glad I did - it was absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommend.

Bruin serves a very high standard of coffee in a picturesque location at the foot of Bern's old town. This is truly the kind of coffee you start looking forward to the night before. Highly recommend.

I had a fantastic experience at Bruin. The food is clearly made with great care, and the quality of the ingredients really stands out. I tried the bretzel with bresaola and it was absolutely delicious. I also had a chocolate chip cookie that was perfectly baked, and a matcha latte with oat milk that was expertly prepared—smooth, well-balanced, and genuinely one of the best I've had. What makes this place even more special is the atmosphere. It's the kind of café where you immediately feel comfortable and at home. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always present without being intrusive, which creates a very welcoming experience. A wonderful spot that combines great food, excellent drinks, and genuine hospitality. I'll definitely be coming back!!!
