Khagee

Sourdough and anpan that sell out by mid-morning

Get here early. Khagee is a small Japanese-influenced bakery in the Wat Ket district, and the loaves run out fast enough that the line forms before opening.

A Thai-Japanese couple bakes sourdough, anpan and a handful of other breads in limited batches, only a few days a week. The menu stays small on purpose, so regulars build their week around its open days. Grab a coffee at a quiet riverside cafe nearby while you wait your turn.

Good to know

  • Open only a few days a week and pastries sell out early, so come near opening.

This cafe is perfectly quiet, comfortable, and has a curated menu that I look forward to trying more of. I had the banana bread berry compote with a cappuccino and it was amazing đŸ€©

My go-to comfort spot every time I’m in Chiang Mai. The bakery selection is displayed in a charming little cabinet at the counter — simple, unpretentious, and always worth the stop. The blueberry bagel is a weekend-only treat not to be missed, the scone is perfectly crumbly without being dry, and the custard bun is my all-time favorite here without question. The coffee selection is thoughtfully curated, and the space itself — neat, minimal, Japanese in spirit — is genuinely peaceful. Exactly the kind of place you return to without needing a reason.

Khagee Chiang Mai This is my “go-to” spot. No need to think twice. Some days I just want a quiet place with good coffee, and I always end up here. The canelĂ© is so good crispy outside, soft inside, super fragrant. And the coffee is just right
smooth, easy, something you can sip for hours. What I really like is the mood of the place. It’s calm, a bit minimal, but has its own character. You can sit alone, or just chill with friends and lose track of time. It’s not flashy, but it’s the kind of place you stay longer than you planned. For me, whenever I’m in Chiang Mai, Khagee is always a must-stop ☕
