Northern Thai classics in an old teak house off Nimman
Sai ua sausage, cha om omelette, nam prik with a pile of fresh vegetables. Tong Tem Toh runs through the northern Thai staples inside a wooden house on Nimmanhaemin Soi 13, and it does every one of them well.
The teak house and its garden feel miles from the busy soi outside, and tables fill up fast at meal times. Good first stop if you're new to Lanna cooking.

I enjoyed the setting—it was comfortable and relaxing. The grilled dishes smelled fantastic, though the meat was a little tough. The sweet vegetables were a highlight, while the omelette was a bit too oily for my taste. They also serve dishes featuring red ants, which sounded interesting, although I didn’t get to try them. I’d be happy to return if I happen to be in the area, but it’s probably not somewhere I’d make a special trip for.

I had a great dinner here! 🤩 The fried fish was perfectly crispy, and the vegetables were surprisingly sweet and tasty. The pork belly was also very good. The Tom Yum soup was spicier than expected, but overall the meal was delicious. Plus, the price was amazing – under $15 per person, including a jug of beer! 🍻

Four stars because I didn't try lot of food. Read lot of positive reviews so cam here since I'm in Chiang Mai. Ordered baked fish in banana leaves and red ant omelette. I'm quite pleased with the taste and it was pretty good. Shall recommend friends to go too next time

Too spicy for me. Should have ordered not spicy if available. However, the foods taste good (just too hot for me).

Non air conditional restaurant with adequate dining space. The staff were friendly and the food was served pretty quickly. I ordered a few dishes to try, the chiang mai veg and herbal chicken was more suited for my taste bud. The tilapia and tom yum soup however was kinda strong in basil or bitterness in taste which I personally don't find it nice. Overall, it has a nice ambience with lots of food choices to choose. Recommend people to give it a try.
