We had dinner at Chawee Home Cook in Chiang Mai, and it felt like being welcomed into someone’s home for a truly authentic meal. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and unpretentious, making the whole experience feel relaxed from the moment we arrived. Every dish was freshly prepared with care, full of comforting flavors, and beautifully balanced. You can really taste the love and attention that goes into the cooking. The hospitality was just as memorable as the food. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome, adding a personal touch that made the evening even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for honest, home-style Thai cooking in Chiang Mai, Chawee Home Cook is definitely worth a visit. We’ll happily return the next time we’re in town.

You'll feel right at home where the owner (chef) serves very flavourful family-style dishes following his grandmother's recipe. The restaurant's decor is also very homey with retro style ornaments, a very enjoyable lunch indeed and will definitely return. Gentle reminder to book in advance!

Amazing- 5 stars! Chawee was one of the most memorable dining experiences we had in Chiang Mai. This is not just a restaurant — it feels like being invited into the chef’s home for an intimate, thoughtfully prepared meal. It’s easy to see why Chawee has earned a spot on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list. Located a little outside central Chiang Mai on a main road, it was very easy to reach with Grab. We made our reservation through Facebook Messenger and received a quick and friendly confirmation. For our 6:30PM reservation, we were the only guests in the restaurant, which made the evening feel like a private dining experience. The meal was served across several courses, each one packed with flavor and creativity. Every dish felt unique and carefully crafted rather than something mass-produced for tourists. The chef/owner personally came out to explain each course, which added a very personal touch to the experience. Service throughout the evening was warm, attentive, and efficient thanks to a wonderful young server. We also enjoyed a local alcohol-based mixed drink that paired perfectly with the meal. At roughly 1,100 THB per person, the dinner was an exceptional value considering both the quality and quantity of food — we left completely full and extremely impressed. Chawee is the kind of place you remember long after the meal is over: genuinely friendly people, outstanding food, and a menu that is constantly evolving and reinventing itself. Highly recommended when visiting Chiang Mai, and we absolutely plan to return.

Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere and service. Chef is so kind a person who introduced every single dish to us. Will recommend to everyone who is going to visit Chiang Mai.
