Always Rock Bar

★ 4.3 · 849 reviews Ankara Opened Opening date unknown

A rock bar on İnkılap Sokak, Ankara's live-music street.

Always Rock Bar is exactly what the name says: a rock-focused bar on İnkılap Sokak, the Kızılay street that stacks live-music venues one on top of the next. Loud guitars, cheap beer and a crowd that came for the setlist are the draw.

İnkılap and the streets around it are where Ankara's rock scene lives, and Always is a long-running part of it. Go late, when the bands are on and the street is full.

To be honest after coming from istanbul were they seem not to be able to keep the number of beers i had, usually adding one more to the tab, in this place the staff was awesome, one of the best i've seen so far they were always ready and never left my glass dry for long, they also speak english, nice variety of music a little bit of everything: bon jovi, ac/dc ,judas priest....the local people seemed really nice too. Great place!!

Drinks are very affordable beers starting from 150. Shots from 100 I think I spent like 600 and had 3 beers and a few shots. Definitely good for your pocket I went as a solo traveler and made friends there. Coming from London I was surprised on how many people spoke English. May have just been some great luck lol but it's It's easy to socialise if you are looking to make new friends.

One of the better bars in Ankara. The staff are nice, and they actually do mandatory ID checks upon entering, which is hard find in Türkiye these days. They have a strict no-disturbance policy. They do not allow tables to disturb or hit-on others, which is, again, hard to find these days. The kitchen closes up at 10 p.m. which would be good if it was open until closing.

Whether you’re alone or with friends it’s the place to go. Even if you go alone you’ll make friends here if you have the courage to talk to strangers. Everyone here is nice and there’s always live music after 9pm. No original music really, mostly just bands covering popular works from what I’ve seen, but it’s still a vibe. Drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders are pleasant to deal with even though they have to deal with belligerent drunks (nothing crazy, crowd is wayyyyy calmer than I’m use to in places like this, but it can get annoying for a service worker to deal with that for a whole shift, I have much respect for them because of this. Bartenders here are a 5/5 rating). My complaints: wish some of the bands played original music (maybe some have, but I could only recognize covers when I was there), also wish they played heavier music sometimes. kind of sucks at how tame the crowd is, no moshpits or stage dives, or anything of that sort really, they just stand in place or sit mostly. Amazing place still and I love it, but not rock ‘n’ roll enough for me to give it a full 5 stars. That being said I will always recommend this place, must visit.

Best bar for metalheads and college students. Limited orders, a little bit old but orders are high quality and cheap, also has very kind and caring staff.
