A dark, art-filled Kadıköy institution

Karga has been a Kadife Sokak institution for decades, a dark, rambling multi-floor bar hung with art, with no sign outside beyond its crow logo. It has functioned as a bar, gallery and gig space, central to the bohemian Kadıköy scene.

The unmarked door and the worn, art-covered interior are part of the identity. It remains a touchstone for the district's alternative crowd.

Excellent bar: great vibe, music and drinks. A cat slept on my lap so I could be biased too 😛 But honestly, it is of the best bars I went to in Istanbul !

One of the coolest bars I've been to. Dark, Gothic, brick and tight. Gorgeous. Beautiful garden patio. The cat bartenders were a little surly and one dumped a bottle when the clients were rude (joke-the cats were super friendly...though they did break a bottle)

Moody, dimly lit vibe with character. Staff stay attentive without hovering. Drinks are solid and fairly priced. The resident cats are friendly and happy to be petted, which adds charm. Good acoustics for conversation, easy place to linger. Consistently a feel-good stop, with its own character, I’d go back.
