Solera Winery: inviting atmosphere of the winery

Solera Winery

★ 4.8 · 833 reviews Istanbul Opened Opening date unknown

A cavernous list of wines by the glass

Solera is a narrow, dim wine bar on Yeni Çarşı Caddesi that has been pouring for decades, with a by-the-glass list that runs into the hundreds across Turkish and imported bottles. Cheese, cured meats and simple plates come alongside.

It keeps an unhurried, slightly worn feel that regulars come back for. The sheer range of open bottles is the draw.

This is a wonderful wine bar in Taksim. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they have an excellent selection of wines at different price points. They also offer the option to do wine flights where you can try up to 6 different Turkish wines with a guided tasting (which I highly recommend trying!).

One of my favourite places in istanbul. Simplicity is the best. I love their food and services. The music is amazing as well. A very special thanks to both; Mr. Yilmaz and Mr. Sulayman. Solera is Recommended.

We first went there for a late night drink. Liked it so much, we came back for 3 more nights. Yilmaz is an excellent host and was able to recommend great wines from a vast collection. I'd definitely go back there again.

Small wine Bar with a huge selection of Turkish wines. We were recommended three delicious wines by the waiter which were also well-priced. The menu is small. The cheese Platter was good, the small plates (dips) we're okay, nothing amazing. Would come again for the wine, but eat before :)

A great place to taste and discover a range of Turkish wines. Service is excellent, always positive and with a smile. Many wines by the glass, and the sommelier is happy to guide clients in their choice. Over three visits I tasted Emir from Turasan, a crisp, dry white with a touch of welcome minerality and I discovered reds made from Kalecik Karasi (light with good acidity) and Kosetevek (full, smooth and fruity). I enjoyed the tenderloin beef with a glass of Chateau Gali Merlot Cab Franc (full bodied and tannic). The space is small, intimate and the music is chill and relaxed. Highly recommended.
