The hotel-casino bar mixing gamblers, guests and Nakasero regulars

Skip the rooftop scene in Kololo. This one sits inside the Meilin International Hotel & Casino on Mackinnon Road, where Chinese ownership and a casino floor pull in a crowd you won't find at a standalone bar: hotel guests, casino patrons and Nakasero's after-work drinkers, all under one roof.

There's no view or décor to lean on here, so the room fills on word of mouth and reservations instead. It's a quieter, odder addition to the neighbourhood's nightlife than another bar chasing the same crowd as everyone else.
