Spread Bagelry

Wood-oven bagels finally hit Buckhead
Buckhead never had a proper bagel shop, and Spread Bagelry fixes that with bagels baked in a wood oven and stacked into sandwiches on Irby Avenue. The char you get from wood heat is the whole draw here.
It landed alongside Koshu Club and Clark's Steakhouse in the same spring 2026 wave of openings, giving the neighborhood a daytime option to match its growing dinner scene.

As eating out is a luxury for us these days and I was looking forward to Spread bagels as a birthday treat, but it was sadly disappointing! After moving from Philly I was excited to learn a spot opened here. So I'm quite familiar with Spread bagels, but both kinds of the bagels we got here were extremely tough, with an 1/8" thick hard crust, like they were overcooked. I can even see it in others photos here. Reading the menus was difficult, especially before I got up to the cashier.

We enjoyed the cure which had a good amount of brisket, egg and bacon. The jalapeño spread on this was amazing. We also enjoyed the salted egg bagel with pistachio honey spread. Not too sweet. So good! Will definitely be back.

I love this place. I come here at least once every two weeks. It makes me feel like I’m in NYC. Introducing some colored bagels would do great here like for holidays or big events like Valentines Day, Rainbow for Pride, or Blue and Orange for the Knicks.

I realize we are lacking for great bagels in this part of the country, but these are not the answer. They were out of multiple things I tried to order in the middle of the week first thing in the morning. I settled for an egg salt bagel with lox. One would expect a wood fired bagel to be flavorful, but it was flat. The lox was sliced way too thick to be enjoyable without cutting into smaller pieces. After being extremely underwhelmed by my sandwich I wanted to give them a fair shake and ordered a plain cinnamon raisin. I thought maybe all the toppings distracted from the bagel, but no. It was underwhelming and undercooked. Maybe the other locations are better?

Delish coffee and bagel sandwich. Service was great, atmosphere was a step up. Comfortable, will absolutely come here again.
