Pastry with a posted baking schedule, from the Red Ash team

Sugarwolf opened on West 4th in May 2026, from the team behind Red Ash and Restaurant Francois. The menu changes constantly, and they post a baking schedule so you know what time each bread comes out.

There is coffee, but also beer, wine and cocktails, so an espresso martini with a morning croissant is clearly an option they planned for.

t's my first time visiting today. It is a bit pricey, but considering it's downtown, I suppose it's reasonable. I picked up just a few items and ordered a drink, and the total quickly came to over $70. The sandwiches are delicious, and the pastries are flaky and tasty. I especially recommend the Everything Danish. Since it was a weekday, I didn't have to wait in line.

This place is definitely worth the hype. That said, waiting 45 minutes in line, watching a fresh batch of cookies come out of the oven during your turn, and then being told you can't order one until it's placed in the display case is pretty ridiculous. We were told we had to get back in line if we wanted to order the cookies. They already use a number system for coffee orders, so it seems like they could easily do the same for fresh pastries. Otherwise really delicious bakery.

Just tried a chocolate covered croissant and their matcha. Chocolate croissant was definitely on bitter side. I expected it to be sweeter. Still tasty. Will love to come back and visit to try their lunch options. Will update once I do.

We rode our bikes downtown to try Sugarwolf Bakery today. We were met with a long line. Sunday morning seems to be a super busy time. The line went fairly quickly. There is a pastry only line. There is also a seated meal line . We did the pastry line. Everything we order we as amazing. Smoked salmon sandwich was really nice. IT could have used a little bit more salmon for sure. The pain au chocolate was beyond flaky . The onion jam pastry was really good too ! The vibe is bright and bustling . We want to come back for lunch for sure. There are a ton of dogs inside so if that's not your thing beware . There isn't any outside seating . I also ordered the Dirty latte: Espresso,Mexican coke, heavy cream and orange oleo. This is a ice coffee drink and I'm still dreaming about it 👍Our bill was $60 not a cheap place but definitely a place to treat yourself.

I could go on and on about this place. You can tell they really know what they are doing and it shines in the details in their pastry program. The one thing to know is they limit 3 pastries for order. I would have gotten more if given the chance. My favorite was the classic croissant which was perfectly proofed and brown and crispy. The chocolate chip cookie was perfect and had great ingredients in the mix. I was impressed by the coffee pastry with the espresso cookie inside however it was really good just not for me. I would eat it again but not my first choice. I felt like it was too dense. Get there at 7 am and you can park at republic square for free for an hour. Also the service was fantastic. Multiple people called me boss man or paid attention to me. It shows when everyone is doing their job in unison. Clean with plenty of seating too.
