Currentea

★ 4.8 · 113 reviews Boston Opened August 2025

Cheese corn dogs and bubble tea on Causeway Street.

Currentea opened on Causeway Street in 2025 selling Korean-style cheese corn dogs alongside bubble tea, a stranger pairing on paper than in practice. It sits on the strip that fills up before every Garden event.

The mozzarella one pulls the way the photos promise. Everything's made to order, so allow ten minutes.

More icy than slushy, mango was definitely a syrup and way too sweet, not fresh/real mango at all (idk why I expected fresh mango but I did), and to top it all off, it was pricey for the quality ($10).

Boba inside Hub Hall with solid drinks and night-market snacks. Wandered in looking for something to snack on during an off-game day. Boston's drowning in popular boba spots right now and every other storefront is a Chinese or Taiwanese brand with a cult following. So the bar for standing out is brutal. And as expected, the drinks here were fine. Solid, even. Just nowhere near the same tier as something like HeyTea. The snacks, though, were interesting. The whole snack menu is built to evoke an Asian night market. BBQ skewers, corn dogs, and fried egg rolls. The headliner is a fried squid skewer they’re marketing as the "Boston's Biggest Jumbo Fried Squid”. We grabbed the regular size to pair with our drinks. With the thick breading, the size was a bit deceiving, but for $5, I wasn’t mad about it. The batter came dusted in cumin and chili powder, and the squid was moist and tender inside. It was a tad too thin to really savor the texture, but as a hot, salty snack to pair with a sweet drink, it did exactly what I wanted.

Omg the best bubble tea in boston. The limon blastea is so refreshing after I drank it with my corn dog. The corn dog was very tasty and the cheese pull was really satisfying. After I ate it for the first time, i decided i need to go back more often. HIGHLY REC!

Currentea is hands down one of the most fun and unique bubble tea spots I’ve been to. The vibe the moment you walk in is vibrant and upbeat — you can tell this place is about more than just drinks. The staff were friendly and made great recommendations when we were overwhelmed by the menu (in the best way). Everything came out quickly and was beautifully presented.
