Caña

Colombian coffee by day, parcha mojitos after dark
Caña, Spanish for sugarcane, opened in May 2026 in the former Great Lakes Tea House on West Grand. It comes from cocktail veteran Carolina Gonzalez and Josean Irizarry of Smash Jibarito, part of a group that also runs the Laberinto speakeasy and Trino steakhouse.
Mornings run as a coffee shop, pouring Colombian beans roasted by Magnifico, a family outfit in Avondale, next to locally made pastries. After dark it turns into a cocktail lounge built on the owners' Mexican and Puerto Rican roots: a café de olla cold brew under banana cream, parcha mojitos made with passion fruit.

What a gem of a place!! Whatever Carolina is doing here is magic. Her passion shows in the way she creates her coffees so thoughtfully. The combination of bold flavors and sourcing of latin products makes you excited to try everything on the menu. The cold brew will knock your socks off. In a city where there are a billion coffee places that end up being mediocre, Caña really stands out and deserves all the success.

Brilliant experience! Refreshing take on cold brew with citrus! Super friendly, community-focused owners who embody hospitality. And the Avo -Aguas , made with coconut water, avocado and fruit, was a distinctive and delicious beverage that surprised and delighted me. Better than a milkshake (and vegan to boot!). So happy to stumble upon this location!

Came here for the first time and fell in love. I will definitely be back! My friend and I spent hours here catching up, sipping coffee, and trying the food. The service was incredible, the food even more so, the atmosphere beautiful and fun. The decor is instagram worthy with the old school reggaeton bumping in the back. Obsessed! 😍 I can’t wait to return! Must try: el platanito and la frijolada. 😋

Great new addition to the neighborhood! Delicious Cafe de Olla cold brew. Also tried the ham sandwich which was also nice. Def coming back again! Wishing Josean and his partners lasting success!

This is by far one of the cutest and most delicious coffee shops I’ve ever been to. I love the atmosphere, music and especially the drinks. I ordered the Creamy Cultura with arroz con leche which I highly recommend. Definitely will be coming back! 🇲🇽🇵🇷❤️
