Two brothers, a corner cafe, and a grandmother named Dot

Michael and Rob Young opened Dots on the corner of Damen and Addison in spring 2026, named for their grandmother, nicknamed Dot, who turned 100 the year before. It runs 7am to 7pm daily, which in Roscoe Village makes it the default stop.

Drinks go further than the neighborhood norm: a smoky rose cardamom latte, a crunchy peanut cold brew. The pastry case holds ham and cheese croissants, kouign-amann and giardiniera snails, laminated rolls despite the name, no actual snails involved.
