A full block of riverfront Mediterranean, with room to dock a boat
Naia opened in June 2026 beneath Chicago Cut Steakhouse, taking up nearly a full block of riverfront between LaSalle and Wells. Indoors and out, it runs to 12,000 square feet, among the biggest restaurants downtown has seen in years.
Chef Athinagoras Kostakos, who won Top Chef Greece in 2010 and later shaped Lyra, Violi and La Serre for DineAmic Hospitality, runs the kitchen. The cooking splits evenly between southern and eastern Mediterranean, Greek on one side and Levantine on the other. A deal with Downtown Docks means arriving by boat and walking a few steps to the table.

Service and atmosphere were on point but I had higher expectations for the food, not that it wasnt good. The food was perfect but the quality didn't match the bill. Overall a fantastic restaurant with absolutely delicious food at an absolutely gorgeous location. Perfect for a date right

Probably the best dinner views of Chicago. We had a great night celebrating my birthday. The food was pretty good. We had all skewers with all sauces, calamari, saganaki, oysters and various deserts. Saganaki was a bit disappointing, as it needs to be crispier and probably best served with bread. Calamari was tasty. Chicken and wagyu skewers were amazing. Mushroom skewer was interesting but the fish was a stale. Should have done a better job. Service was too slow as well as we had to wait 20 mins for them to serve our wine and half the food was gone. All and all, it wasn't a bad experience but should have been better. Also, I am not sure if there is a dress code but they let some people in from one of the boats that docked. He was walking around with a tshirt and shorts with foul language on the tshirt. Not in line with a classy restaurant that I believe NAIA aspires to be.

Been wanting to come since this place opened. Snagged a brunch rese (same menu as dinner save for the desserts) It takes a bit longer if you want to hold out for a table outside, so be prepared to snag a Smoke on the Water at the bar next to the hostess stand. Once we got seated it was a delight. Devante was an absolute pleasure and took us on a culinary adventure. He even comped drinks as the bar got a bit backed up for our first cocktail. Tableside hummus was great, as were the spreads, but the true star was the crispy rice and skewers. We opted to not do entrees, but the schnitzel was a great fill in, especially with the giard. I was pleasantly surprised at prices for being in downtown Chicago. Definitely want to come back for the dinner scene. Amazing spot to add to Chicago’s roster.

Large, expansive Riverwalk restaurant experience. Beautiful views, inside or by the river. Has a nice happy hour. For a full experience try to secure online reservations for a booth or table outside. Inside bar is very nice but seating is a challenge. Early afternoon is best to hopefully get bar or indoor tables.
