Mayan cooking from the Peke's Pozole family

Johnathan Macedo built Peke's Pozole into a Pilsen fixture. Itz-Chel, which he opened on 18th Street in February 2026, is his third concept and the first with a proper dining room, built around Mayan cooking.

Pozole is still on the menu, as it would have to be. Around it sit grilled octopus tostadas, chicken flautas, enchiladas in mole and picaditas con cecina. It gave the neighbourhood a sit-down option in a stretch dominated by counters and taquerias.
