Persian kabobs and slow herb stews near Foster Beach

Topoli opened on North Sheridan Road in July 2026, a few blocks from Foster Beach. It runs as a neighbourhood Persian and Mediterranean kitchen, not a special-occasion restaurant. Beef koubideh off the charcoal is what most people order first.

The herb stews simmer for hours, and the mezze comes out in small fresh batches. Edgewater has had Persian groceries for years without much of a sit-down option to go with them.

I love that we have more Persian restaurants around the city of Chicago! They offer a great variety of Persian food, from kabobs and traditional stews to delicious sweets. The staff is polite and friendly, the service is welcoming, and I really loved the atmosphere. The restaurant is also very spacious, making it a perfect place for large parties and gatherings.

I tried kobideh and it was so delicious. I visited this restaurant for the second time and ordered the chicken-lamb and chicken chenje. Both dishes were delicious, juicy, and full of flavor.

Went here with my family recently as we usually have to travel 30+ minutes to get some good Persian food, which we’ve done 2-3 times a week for years now. We were so surprised by the quality, the portion sizes, and the cost compared to many other places. The dill rice is the most flavorful I’ve had, and the koubideh and chicken were so juicy and evenly cooked. Great spot to take friends or even to dine alone :)

Excellent delicious kabob, seasoned perfectly and tender. Friendly and welcoming service, offering recommendations for the best dishes. Lunch specials very well priced, and I'm excited to return for dinner!
