Nixtamalized masa in three colors, pressed to order
Chef Christian Orozco built Mazor around masa. Three varieties of corn come from a supplier in Pilsen, get nixtamalized in house, and are pressed into tortillas to order, which is why the tostadas and tetelas arrive in blue and yellow instead of one uniform color.
The cooking is Guatemalan and Mexican: tuna tostadas with salsa macha, Oaxacan-style tetelas stuffed with roasted mushrooms and cheese. The room is 700 square feet and seats about 30 as a counter-service spot, except on the nights each month when it turns into a ticketed chef's counter for a six to eight course dinner.
Good to know
- Monthly ticketed tasting dinners turn the counter into a six to eight-course menu.

Love the casual dining and open kitchen. Menu has a variety of dishes and proteins such as marinaded tuna, al pastor, and ribeye. For our first time dining in, it was fun exploring a few of the dishes. Presentation was outstanding. The dessert, Jamaica flan, had the fine dining touch. Who would expect edible flowers as garnish at a casual taco place. Also they have the best horchata around!

Wow! I’m so glad we stopped by on our way from the airport. Everything was fantastic, but the tetelas and Al pastor tacos were my favorite. The black awning is unassuming, but this is beautiful food at a very reasonable price. Come now before they take off.

5 stars all around for Mazor!! I’ve finally been able to give this place a try, and I’ll definitely be back again. The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was extremely clean, and most of all, the food was wonderful! I had an al pastor burrito. I can’t wait to try more things on the menu!

Amazing addition to the neighborhood! Very friendly service. The tuna tostada and ribeye taco were the highlights but we enjoyed everything we ordered. Horchata was excellent too. I hope this place makes it, we will be back.

Great addition to the neighborhood. I stopped in during a quiet weekday for lunch, close to a familiar intersection with some great restaurants. Tried the three taco plate…ribeye, steak, & al pastor plus rice & beans and a tuna tostada. All of the tacos were really good and even the rice & beans, which at a lot of restaurants can be an after thought, were above expectations. The tuna tostada was outstanding. I could’ve eaten two or three of them! All of the tortillas & salsas are homemade Looking forward to going back and trying some other menu items, like a burrito, torta, or quesadilla.
