The hotel bar Houston treats like its own living room
Augustine Lounge is the lobby bar at Hotel Saint Augustine, and it never really shuts. Breakfast starts at seven, then it slides into an all-day menu and specialty cocktails without a gap between meal periods.
Locals claim it the way you'd claim a neighborhood spot, not a hotel amenity. It's made Houston's best-bars lists since opening, going up against dedicated cocktail bars, and the rotating programming keeps regulars coming back.

Great drinks at the bar. Ordered a cheese plate and asked for more bread. Waited 25 minutes and our server apologized and told us the kitchen was backed up. Bread never came so we left. The kitchen either needs more staff or more toasters. Asking for more bread shouldn’t take 25 minutes, unless they are feeding a sourdough starter and baking each piece from scratch.

We came last week and were blown away with the service and drinks we had with Sarah. She is a phenomenal mixologist and even kinder person. We actually stayed for another round of drinks just because we were having such a nice time. We look forward to our next visit!

Stopped by Augustine Lounge prior to our Friday night dinner at Perseid. We arrived around 6:30 and the available seats were either at the communal table or these very low rise chairs surrounding a coffee table. The lounge itself is beautiful and super chic but the seating arrangements are a touch awkward and uncomfy. Service was attentive and the cocktails were good. Cannot speak to the food since we were going to dinner after drinks but the menu looks good. Great addition to the Montrose neighborhood.
