Fratesi's Pizza

New York-style slices from a narrow shopfront on East Flagler Street.

Fratesi's sells New York-style slices from a narrow shopfront on East Flagler Street, in the middle of downtown's old retail strip. Miami New Times named it among the city's best new restaurants of 2025.

The format is deliberately unglamorous: slices under a heat lamp, whole pies to order, a counter to eat at. The crust is better than the room suggests.

Unbelievable pepperoni pizza!! Thin crispy crust, quality ingredients, everything just works. Also tried the Svetlana’s Vodka pie which was delicious, maybe a little heavy on the cheese and salt for me. Worth getting but the pepperoni is the clear winner.

Visited for the first time for a birthday celebration. There is a lot to like here: the specialty pizzas are unique, the arugula salad is tasty, and the hot honey topping is a game-changer! The atmosphere is also great, with nice outdoor seating and music that isn't too loud. Unfortunately, the service and execution missed the mark. Our pizza order was incorrect, and because our server barely returned to the table, we couldn't address it. We also found the thin crust to be over-charred to the point of being painful to eat; it actually cut my son’s mouth. With a bit more attention to the oven and the guests, this place would be a five.

I loveeee this place & my incredible server Liz took such good care of us. She gave us a recommendation to add garlic onto the regular pizza and it BLEW MY MIND AWAY so simple yet such an overlooked idea!! Great space, energy, and pizza 😋🍕 Tahini Cesar Salad is always incredible and a must always.

Probably different from what you expect in a good way. Ambiance is pretty cool, you feel like you went back in time 30 or 40 years. Pizza itself is very thin, no outer crust. Some of them you can do half and half, I tried demon pig girl and plain pie with added peppers and basil, was really good. Demon pig girl is my top choice though, because I enjoy toppings. Tahini ceasar salad was excellent as well, definitely recommend. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but it is much nicer inside.

Wow! This place is a gem! They serve the best New Haven-style pizza and the most incredible Caesar salad in town. The crust is incredibly crispy, and the flavors are simply unbelievable. The service is top-notch, and I want to give a huge shoutout to Glyzabeth, who is an absolute rockstar. Make sure to make a reservation because it’s a small restaurant. The atmosphere is great, with a fantastic selection of beers and wines. Don’t be fooled by the thin crust; it’s surprisingly filling!
