Tacos Atarantados

★ 4.1 · 188 reviews Miami Opened June 2026

Trompo tacos from Monterrey, now on South Miami Avenue in Brickell.

Tacos Atarantados started in Monterrey and came to Miami by way of Wynwood; the Brickell branch opened in June 2026 on South Miami Avenue. The trompo, the vertical spit, is the centerpiece, as it is in northern Mexico.

Order tacos in threes, add a cachetada, expect to stand. It stays open late enough to catch the Brickell bar crowd on the way home.

Good food and fairly priced. Good service and nice night life.

As a Mexican from Guanajuato and a big foodie, I wanted to give my honest review. The quality of the food was 10/10. We tried many items, and the standouts were the ribeye tacos, suadero, and carne asada. These are Monterrey-style tacos, so some come with flour tortillas and others with corn tortillas. If you decide to swap the type of tortilla, as we did, there is a $4 charge. We ordered at least 20 tacos and swapped some of the tortillas because we wanted to try both styles. Unfortunately, we were not informed that the swap would cost $4 per taco order, so we ended up paying around $30 extra just for different tortillas. I can understand a $0.50 or even $1 upcharge, but $4 is the price of an entire taco at many popular taquerías. That being said, the quality of the food is top-tier. You can truly taste the authentic flavors in every bite. They also have a large selection of salsas, which they bring to the table automatically, and that was a real treat. I understand that the restaurant is located in Brickell and that prices will naturally be higher than in other areas. However, I still felt that some items were overpriced. Our server was not rude, but they were not particularly welcoming either and came across as somewhat condescending. I would come back because the quality and flavor of the food are exceptional. I can’t wait to visit their location in Mexico City, and I’d be willing to give this restaurant another chance, perhaps at a different location.

If you are looking for authentic, flavor-packed tacos and great service in Brickell, Atarantados Tacos delivers on every front. We started with the papas enchiladas con carne, and they were phenomenal—rich, perfectly seasoned, and ideal for sharing. For the tacos, the trompo de puerco was beautifully charred and savory, while the carne asada was tender, juicy, and packed with classic Mexican flavor. Absolutely everything we ordered was delicious. To top it all off, our server, Estefania, was fantastic! She was warm, attentive, and made our experience seamless from start to finish. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Vibe, flavors, and service are all a 10. Brickell has so many taco spots now but this is the best hands down. Branding is on point, super delicious tacos that stand out because they are crisp and juicy. Super nice staff.

Excellent food, disappointing welcome by the guy at the entrance. Will definitely come back, but hopefully the attitude gets better. We are in the US, not in Latin America where you can give an attitude to the customers.
