Tonya Pineda started Slow Burn in 2024 as a mobile bookstore, self-described as the Smut Truck, one of the first romance-only book trucks in Nashville. It parked for good in January 2026 at 604 Gallatin Avenue in East Nashville. It's Nashville's first romance-dedicated bookstore, BIPOC- and woman-owned.

Good to know

It's upstairs in Suite 208, not at street level; check hours before going as it's closed Mondays.
Author signings and evening events are frequent; doors for events usually open around 6:30pm.

My amazing hubby indulged me and we stopped by this bookstore before heading home. The interior was beautiful and there were so many books to bring home. I love that each book shelf was a different type of romance book (like fantasy, dark romance, sports…) This boon store did not disappoint. I can’t wait to be back.
