Ernest Tubb Record Shop
Nashville Opened 13 November 2025
Broadway's neon record shop landmark, revived with a rooftop honky-tonk
The neon sign is back over Lower Broadway, and so is the record shop underneath it. Racks of country vinyl and memorabilia fill the street level. It's real stock, not souvenirs.
Ernest Tubb opened the original shop in 1947, and for 75 years country fans bought records here after the Opry let out. It closed in 2022. The restored building reopened in November 2025, four stories added on top: bars, live music stages and a rooftop honky-tonk over Broadway.
Good to know
- The record shop is the ground floor; above it are bars, live music and a rooftop honky-tonk, so it gets rowdier as you climb.
- Go for the country vinyl and memorabilia you won't find at the tourist merch stores on the same block.
