Balera

Coastal Italian with a disco ball, on Graham Avenue
Five Italian owners, one disco ball, and a room done up in pale blue and red tiles with terrazzo underfoot. Balera plays it loud without trying too hard.
Get the Mattarello pizzas, thin and crusty, or the pastanero, pasta tubes fried then baked. The rotolo di crespella comes rolled into rosettes. Wine list stays Italian, and the bar pours a hibiscus Americano. It runs to 1am on weekends.

This is the trendiest spot on the block at the moment. When we went, they were shooting several promotions, often pointing the camera at peoples' tables and food. This place can definitely get busy at peak hours, so ideally book a res in advance online. Food and pizza was great! The Diavola pizza was our favorite, and it was so savory and delicious. The Rosa felt a bit flat, and the pasta was great too. If you are looking to eat until your full, be prepared to spend $70+. I'd say its worth it though. The atmosphere and food created a very enjoyable time. NOTE: This is thin thin crust pizza. It'll be crispy, but its not the typical kind you'd find at a slice place.

Balera has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Williamsburg. Lively with the disco ball, music, and late-night energy, but still relaxed enough to actually enjoy a long dinner and conversation. I’ve been a few times now and it’s consistently good. The pizza is super thin and crispy with really fresh flavor, and the fritto misto is a must. The Paloma is also genuinely one of the best cocktails I’ve had in the city. The service is always warm, attentive, and makes you feel taken care of from the moment you walk in. It’s trendy without being pretentious, and one of those rare places you actually want to keep going back to. 10/10!!

Had a really nice dinner at Balera in Williamsburg while catching up with a friend. The place has a great vibe, relaxed but still feels special. The food was great, and we really enjoyed the wine. The owner stopped by our table to say hi and walked us through the wine menu, which was a nice touch and made the evening feel more personal. Overall, a great spot for dinner with friends, good food, and a nice glass of wine. Would definitely come back.

We started with the focaccia and Prosciutto di Parma—absolutely delicious. The focaccia was perfectly done: soft on the inside with a nice crunchy crust. The pizza is very thin and crispy. Crème caramel was a good choice as dessert. The staff is friendly and we really loved the warm, authentic Italian vibe. 🫶🏻

Everything about Balera was 10/10! Hands down the best Italian food in Brooklyn. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the service was outstanding- everyone there is attentive and welcoming. I recommend staying until 10pm when the lights get dimmer and the disco ball comes out. Can’t wait to be back soon!
