Jackie Carnesi's seafood room under the bridge
The water is the whole premise here. Jackie Carnesi's Bar Susanne sits close enough to the bridge that the New York waterways it sources from feel like part of the room: pickled mussels, razor clams in a passionfruit ceviche that swings sweet and sharp.
The bar pours briny martinis, plus low-ABV spritzers for anyone pacing themselves. Dessert is mango sorbet in an oyster shell. Cafe Susanne next door covers coffee by day and runs oyster happy hours.

Wow we really had the perfect meal. Every single dish was exceptional and the summer squash I can’t stop thinking about. The staff was attentive and love the view of the city and the river right outside. Highly recommend. Get a res before they blow up and it’s impossible!

Had a great meal and some of the best oysters in a really long time here this week. Everything was fresh, staff was lovely and owner was super kind. Locally owned and solid menu, right on the water

I can’t recommend enough! The staff was so incredibly kind and attentive. The food arrived swiftly and thanks to our server, we had phenomenal wines to pair with our plates. I have to confess, I stopped the server from clearing my plates TWICE, because I was concerned I had left a drop of sauce behind. They graciously looked away as I licked my plates clean! 10/10. I will be back!!!!

We really enjoyed our experience!! We’ll be back for sure. - Cocktails are great. I loved my olive oil martini and my husband had a low ABV drink with Campari and lots of juices. - The food overall is quite good, though the portions are on the smaller side relative to the price point. - We LOVED the scallop crudo and, ironically, with this being a seafood restaurant, the pork chop. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and was so tender and flavorful. - The let down was the strawberry tart for two. Presentation wise, it’s beautiful. But it’s too much pastry and not enough strawberry. The strawberries are sliced much too thin. And it’s served with whipped cream but should really be served with vanilla ice cream. - The ambiance and decor is elevated and classy.
