Borromini

★ 4.1 · 673 reviews Philadelphia Opened August 2025

Stephen Starr's multi-level Italian on Walnut Street.

Borromini opened on Walnut Street in August 2025, the latest addition to Stephen Starr's Philadelphia holdings and one of the largest. Multiple levels, a full bar, and a room designed to be looked at.

Saucy pastas, osso buco, steak tagliata, pan-seared branzino. The Italian reds run deep. Book, because walk-ins at 8pm are optimistic. The Infatuation added it to the Hit List.

Everything was superb. Phenomenal service by Alana G love the nonalcoholic apspritz, and the Negroni was the best ever. Came with a complementary focaccia, which is nice.

The space is beautiful! Long bar with lots of seating. Beautiful interior and design. I sat at the bar. Kayla was FANTASTIC! I got the limoncello drop which was good. I got the Cacio e Pepe for food. Appreciated it was served in a pan. It could be a touch too pepper for some but it’s literally Cacio e Pepe. It was just fine taste wise. I got the chocolate olive oil cake and it was DIVINE. I would go back just for that. I appreciated there were a few meatless options available.

Steven Starr did it again. He hit the mark with this restaurant. The Food was excellent. All the dishes we ordered were great. All the flavors were well balanced and the portions were enough to leave you feeling satisfied.

Sexy place with a stylish contemporary vibe that has become very popular. Food tastes freshly made and is super tasty. Wine selection by the glass is limited. Cocktails are so so. Service at the bar can get slow when the place is packed. Servers seem overextended. In the late afternoon, before the crowds arrive, the place feels nice and relaxing.

From the moment we walked in, the experience set the tone for a great night. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with that perfect candlelit vibe that makes you slow down and actually enjoy the moment. We started with a shrimp scampi that was cooked to perfection—tender, buttery, and full of flavor without being overpowering. For the main course, the lobster fri diovlo that delivered in every way: perfectly cooked, rich tomato sauce, and balanced seasoning that tied everything together. What really elevated the night was the service. Joe was excellent—attentive, professional, and made sure we were taken care of without ever being intrusive. Basil, the manager, was just as impressive, checking in and making sure everything met a high standard. That level of hospitality doesn’t go unnoticed. Overall, this wasn’t just a meal—it was a full experience. Great food, great service, and a vibe that makes you want to come back again.
