Old Towne & Sanna's

★ 4.3 · 214 reviews Philadelphia Opened August 2025

Fitler Square Mediterranean where gyros meet cheesesteaks.

Old Towne & Sanna's opened on Grays Ferry Avenue in August 2025 with a menu that refuses to pick a lane: gyros, vegetarian falafel platters, pizzas and cheesesteaks.

Hibiscus iced tea and lemonade for the daytime, a long bar for when that won't do. The falafel platter is the safest thing to judge the kitchen by.

I had a really good experience at Old Towne & Sanna’s. The food was delicious, and the portion size was much better than at other shawarma places. Excellent price and service.

We have been to this place several times since it reopened. It is a true family run restaurant with a family friendly atmosphere. The owner is always around and comes to say hi to us. In fact, one of our kids left a toy there and he remembered us a couple months later and returned it! A couple of highlights: The food- have not had a bad thing from here. Always comes out piping hot because it is all made fresh. The atmosphere- on nice days they have the garage style doors open so you can eat inside while you feel outside Its BYOB and you can run across the street to the heirloom market to get a bottle of wine or some beer to have with your dinner. I specifically recommend the saujuk flatbread. Its a special homemade sausage flatbread that I can't even describe with words. You just have to try it! Plenty of space to drop off your stroller. Have also enjoyed takeout from here many times and had a great experience as well

Really delicious, authentic Lebanese food. Beef and lamb shawarma is top, and the mezze is excellent. The service is great! Sam is awesome!

I rarely give five-star reviews that wholeheartedly encourage people to go out of their way to visit somewhere — but Old Towne and Sanna’s is one of those places. How we found it: We’d been hearing about this spot for a while from our Lebanese friends. On a Saturday afternoon walk with our dog, we finally decided to stop in and see for ourselves. We’re glad we did. The hospitality: Sam welcomed us the moment we sat down and treated us like family. My girlfriend is Lebanese, so we know our way around the menu, but Sam’s warmth stood out on its own. In the short time we were there, at least five people walked by and greeted him like an old friend. That kind of community presence is rare and says everything about how he runs this place — as an experience, not a transaction. The food: Authentic, rich, inspired, and clearly made with care. The muhammara, hummus, tabbouleh, warak enab, and chicken platter were all standouts — every plate had depth and balance, and nothing felt phoned in. Honestly, between the flavor, the range of the menu, and the way we were treated, this was a better meal than any I’ve had at Suraya or Li Beirut in the city. For dog owners: Even our pup got the royal treatment — one of the most ornate water bowls she’s ever been served. She was treated like a princess. Bottom line: Whether you’re headed to Igloo for ice cream, out for a walk in the neighborhood, or specifically planning a meal, go out of your way to stop in here. You won’t be disappointed — and like us, you may have just found a new regular spot.
