The most serious Turkish kitchen on Adams Avenue in years

Bosforo opened on 27 May 2025 at 3201 Adams Avenue in Normal Heights, on the corner where Adams starts to feel like an actual high street.

Turkish food barely shows up in San Diego, and this is the first serious attempt at it in years. Mezze comes first, then something off the grill. The bread arrives hot and rarely lasts long enough to cool.

Top notch hospitality at Bosforo. Dined here with my grandparents and we felt so taken care of by Bel, Ale, and team the entire night. The dining room is gorgeous and comfortable and the food was excellent. Thank you so much Bosforo team! ❤️

Amazing meal! We ordered 3 meze and 2 mains. The fish of the day was a Turkish branzino and was delicious. Everything was super flavorful and our server gave us feedback on the order (suggesting a few changes) which was much appreciated. The Bosforo kebap was hands down the best item we ordered but the eggplant atom was a close second. Highly recommend getting a reservation.

First night in San Diego for me and hubby and wanted to try some Turkish restaurants as he is from Istanbul and misses his food a lot. This gem didn’t disappoint! Food flavor is very authentic, fresh and delicious, presentation is very good (You know you eat with your eyes first!) and what made the experience even more memorable was our waiter Richard. He was very welcoming, attentive and funny, he elevated the whole experience! Thank you Richard and thank you Bosforo, we’ll be back!

Insanely good!! We went for my friend’s birthday and were treated like family by the staff. The space is so cool too, you can tell they paid extra attention to detail, and there’s love in every corner of this restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. I’ve been to Turkey many times and was not expecting Bósforo to be as authentic as it was. I can’t wait to go back!
