The Cal Anderson taco stand gets a dining room
Tacos Cometa spent years as a late-night stand by Cal Anderson Park. In March 2026 it opened a proper restaurant on Broadway with signage, seating and lighting.
The menu is short: tacos, vampiros, quesadillas, carne asada or mushroom. Same tacos, no astroturf.

After trying this place, I can definitely say this is one of the better tasting taco shops in Seattle, Washington! The service was amazing, everything here was delicious, from the tacos, to the quesadilla, to the Horchata, the cookie, and last, but at least the flan. The quality of the meat was amazing, good portion sizes, and the cookie and flan was so flavorful, not dry, creamy. Overall, I highly recommend and I would come back.

Excelentes tacos!!! It’s amazing to have these authentic Sonora style tacos, the meat is tender and perfectly seasoned and the tortillas are fresh and delicious. And the flan, best one I’ve had in Seattle.

Tacos Cometa is fantastic! The food, drinks, employees, and atmosphere were awesome! They gave us cool stickers! Also, my kid accidentally spilled a drink and the employees cleaned it up right away all while treating my tear-eyed kid with kindness.

Awesome, authentic taco spot right here in Seattle! I’d been excited to try Tacos Cometa for a while, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The tacos were packed with flavor, the ingredients fresh, and the tortillas were excellent. It’s the kind of place that instantly transports you back to a great taquería in México 🇲🇽. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and definitely worth the visit. We will be back soon and often.

Tacos Cometa focuses on a simple menu centered around carne asada tacos. The meat is flavorful and well-prepared, making for a satisfying meal without a lot of extras. They're also open late, which makes them a convenient option if you're in Capitol Hill and looking for food in the evening. Overall, I enjoyed the food and would recommend Tacos Cometa to anyone looking for straightforward, well-made tacos in Seattle.
