The upside-down rice dish, done properly, in Greenwood
Mr. Maqluba opened in January 2026 in the old Olive and Grape space on Greenwood Ave N, named for the layered rice and meat dish it flips onto the plate.
The chicken mandi is the other thing to order, otherwise mostly found at Taste of Yemen. Dolmas and grills round out the rest of the menu.

Visited Mr Maqluba yesterday and it was a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious, the chicken mandi was amazing. Chicken was super tender and flavorful and the rice was spiced to perfection. The service was slow as there was only person working the floor but she was super nice. Overall very delicious new opening and would highly recommend!

It was great to try something different. The staff was very friendly and it was very busy when we got there around 8pm. Food was delicious and the chicken and lamb fell off the bone.
