The Mercer Island drive-in lands downtown
Hap's has been grilling burgers on Mercer Island for years. In June 2026 it opened on 5th Avenue downtown, in a stretch of office towers with almost no burger options at lunch.
The menu stays short: burgers, fries cooked in beef tallow, milkshakes. The downtown branch also does breakfast sandwiches you can't get at the original, which is the reason to show up before ten.
