Bar Angie

★ 4.4 · 509 reviews Washington, D.C. Opened April 2025

A whole menu section for martinis

The Balos owners opened Bar Angie in the West End in April 2025 and made the room dark enough to read as a New York bistro, which is clearly what they were after.

Raw bar, pasta, burgers, steaks. Lobster frites and a wagyu French dip get the most attention, though the martini list runs long enough to be its own section of the menu.

We had a truly excellent dinner here outside on the covered patio. The food, service, and ambiance were great - especially our server Aytac. Everyone went above and beyond and we had a perfect evening.

I recently took my wife to bar Angie for date night. I was pleased by my experience. They have a pretty wide variety to choose from as it refers to their cocktails. The host and staff we had for the evening was fantastic. The Cajun style add to the stake was elite. I was a little disappointed of the Angie burger. For the price point, I was expecting burger with a lot more flavor. Nevertheless, the experience was good and the bar was pretty lively because of one of the World Cup games.

Bar Angie is one of my favorite spots for brunch, dinner, or happy hour! The food and drinks are so, so good—as an example, the Caesar salad goat cheese balls and everything bagel croutons are life changing. The rainbow cake is unreal, and the crab rangoons are better than anything you’ll have anywhere else. The martini selection is also unparalleled. The service is excellent, too—Aytac was super attentive and friendly.

Came here recently for lunch Sunday—food and service were excellent! Our server Don was friendly & attentive, and made our experience much more fun! This place offers Bottomless Martinis for $45—highly worth it if you want a few drinks minimum. They have a martini cart that comes around to make your martini, but it was slow service—our other cocktails (made at the bar) were brought out way before the cart came by our table. Cool perk, if you tag them on social media, you get a free round of shots! Food was delicious—everything is well flavored and good portion size. Highly recommend the Angie Burger, Wagyu French Dip, and Lobster Salad. The Mussel Frites and Lobster “Escargot” were good too!

Don and entire team are all amazing! can’t say enough of how fun and awesome they are! This is a great spot for our Sunday Funday! We were pleasantly surprised to find out they have unlimited martinis and that the martinis are served from a rolling cart! Food here was all well flavored and delicious! Highly recommend any dishes with lobsters (salad, escargot) and their Angie and Waygu French dip burgers are superb! We definitely will be back!
