New tenant in a much-recycled 11th Street room
This 11th Street address has cycled through Cinco Soles and Ossobuco over the years. El Jardin took it over in January 2026 with a long Mexican menu: tacos, ceviche, enchiladas.
The cocktail list is longer than the room strictly needs, which is a good sign in Columbia Heights on a Friday.

In a city where everyone is transient and tons of restaurants are owned by large companies, this place feels local. It's a neighborhood gem with delicious food and cocktails, reasonable prices, and a friendly owner and staff.

Good margs, the ceviche was fresh, spicy, and vinegary. The pork main was amazing. I loved my meal here, sat outside so can’t speak to the ambiance but the service was great!
