French bistro cooking, no airs, on Hàng Bún
Chef Hải did nine years in France before landing back in Hanoi. The name puns on bia hơi, the city's cheap draught beer, which is roughly the register he's going for: bistro food without the fuss.
He keeps the menu short and the sourcing local. Nobody here cares if a plate photographs well, and that's kind of the point.

Quite remarkable to find this place in Hanoi. Elegant, simple and totally delicious menu of French inspired dishes built around seasonal Vietnamese ingredients. Couldn’t fault any of the dishes and all complemented by an interesting and affordable wine menu both by the glass and bottle. Beautiful, informal and welcoming atmosphere, this is the perfect place you just wish was in your neighbourhood. Please visit and explore a few dishes from the regularly changing menu and taste some delicious wines. Ask for guidance if your not sure, all the staff are beautiful, humble and willing to step you through to find the right selection.

Not bad spot but perhaps I had elevated expectations. Ordered 5 dishes, all were pleasant enough. The toasted yeast butter and foccacia was delicious. However, the other dishes didn't really have anything special/ memorable about them. The service was friendly and capable. We sat upstairs, I dont know if it is the acoustics in that room or I just got unlucky but 2 tables next to us were incredibly loud. Restaurant had music playing but no idea what it was. Couldn't converse easily, noise level was more bia hoi than wine bar.

Love this wine bistro from A to Z! Super vibe, delicious and creative local food with local ingredients! Nice selection of wines! Owners and team are super nice! That’s why it’s always a stop once in Hanoi!

What a fun filled drinking and gastronomical adventure we had! Come for the tasteful wine recommendations, delicious food, drink and amazing energy that Lea and Hai share with the world. This has to be one of the top wine bars I’ve been to on my travels.
