Lebanese mezze inside a Fairfield pub

A suburban pub dining room doesn't usually smell like charcoal and fresh bread, but that's Sama's whole trick. It took over the Grandview Hotel in Fairfield and turned it into one of Melbourne's better Lebanese kitchens.

Mezze first, then whatever's come off the charcoal, with bread pulled from the oven all evening. The bar out front is still a plain pub bar, so the prices stay honest. It's a ten-minute walk from Fairfield station.
