A bookshop and café that puts fantasy and romance up front

Skip the literary-fiction wall. This one-room shop on Lerchenfelder Straße stacks crime, fantasy and romance right at the front, with coffee at the counter and a few reading-themed gifts tucked between the shelves.

Most of Vienna's indie bookshops lean literary or political, so a genre-first shop is a rare find here. It sits on a quiet stretch of Neubau that's been filling with small owner-run places for years without turning into a proper destination strip.

Good to know

It is a reading café as much as a shop, you can sit with a coffee and the book before deciding.
The Lerchenfelder Straße end of the seventh is a ten-minute walk from Volkstheater, past a run of small bars.

Stumbled by chance on this little gem, we had a coffee (delicious) and could browse through the bookshelves at the same time. Truly one of the best bookstores I’ve visited so far in Vienna, you must go by if you’re a fan of cosy literature or just want to enjoy a coffee and a piece of cake in a cute book nook 🤗🥰

This might just be my favourite bookstore in Vienna! The owner is so lovely and the shop reflects her so well! It's a charming shop with the loveliest selection and a very inviting interior. Bookshops like these such a gem
