Eaust
★ 4.9 · 30 reviews Ostend Opened 15 May 2025
Twenty years at Plassendale, now cooking by the water in Ostend.
Eaust opened on 15 May 2025 in the Trinity building on Oosteroever, after Alicia Brutein and Bram Coenen spent more than twenty years running restaurant Plassendale. The name mixes the French "eau" with Ostend, and the menu leans on local products and familiar classics, with a few new dishes thrown in to surprise.
One thing still missing: their signature shrimp croquettes haven't made it onto the menu yet.

The dishes were generously filled with fresh seafood and were absolutely delicious. The warm hospitality, attentive service, and cozy yet elegant interior made the experience truly memorable. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

Quiet atmosphere with a view of the Lighthouse Dock from the window. Classic 3-course menu with a modern touch, where the subtle, airy, homemade cheese croquettes particularly impressed me. Quite different from those at the chip shop! Highly recommended, this restaurant.

If a restaurant can be 'coming home', then for me it is Eaust. Very tasty food. À la carte and daily specials. Very authentic and friendly owners, Bram & Alicia, who have been a fixture in Ostend for several decades. Very soothing modern interior. Here you still encounter passion for gastronomy without much fuss. Some restaurants are more about perception than performance. Here you find one that has more performance than perception. That translates into a fair price. I feel at home here every time. https://www.tripadvisor.be/ShowUserReviews-g188672-d34232897-r1060551416-Eaust-Ostend_West_Flanders_Province.html#

Very nice restaurant. It is a delightful place to enjoy a peaceful setting. We have visited the Plassendale location many times before, but this was our first time here at the new Oosteroever location. We found a parking spot easily.

We enjoyed the menu featuring shrimp croquettes and sole. My partner also ordered the prawns, which were deliciously prepared and cleverly presented. We complemented this with an Irish coffee and a Dame Blanche. We were very satisfied—with the dishes, the atmosphere, and the service. Highly recommended!
