Bar Pompette's crew turns College Street's wine bar into a cocktail room
Cocktails lead here now, though the wine list survives from its Vinoteca Pompette days. The food moved up too, from bar snacks to shareable plates worth planning a meal around.
This is the looser, louder sibling of Bar Pompette, which landed eighth on North America's 50 Best Bars in 2026. Same team, different mood.

I was so hungry that I forgot to take pictures! Everything at this restaurant was made just right and tasted delicious. Jerome took great care of us and provided excellent service. I definitely recommend visiting this place!

Sister restaurant to Bar Pompette. Bar Pompette is still better in my opinion, but I’d come back to try their food next time.

Creative and tasty cocktails by the pompette team, try it before they get too busy

Food was so mediocre, they used supermarket chips (Ruffles). Portion was very small. Only pro was happy hour drinks, $12 per cocktail is considered reasonable pricing. Do not recommend, don’t think this bar will last. So many other better options. Reply to comments below: Owner is having difficult time taking criticism, honestly its a true reflection in the general experience (food & service). Re-adjusted my rating for atmosphere - from 3 star to 4 star (good location, used to be restaurant Pompette), service from 2 star to 1 star. Unsure why owner felt the need to write a long passive aggressive reply dissecting our order, but ok.I wrote most of it down for you. here you go, Devil egg $4 Crispy potatoes $6 (owner said the sauce is house-made, not supermarket ones) Beef Tartar $25 Burrata $18 Bone Marrow $38 For folks who want to try this new bar because they loved restaurant Pompette (sadly permanently closed), Don't. For other folks - please go and try it for yourselves, who knows maybe you will become a regular. To quote the owner, their devil egg and crispy potatoes is the cheapest in the city - plus if you want to share 1 drink they split it into 2 cups for you =)

Had such a great experience at Bar Allegro. The space is beautiful and feels really intimate, perfect for a night out. Everything we ordered was so good — especially the bone marrows (insane!!), burrata with prosciutto XO sauce and the crispy potatoes. Cocktails were also super well-balanced (loved the allegro aperol spritz). Service was warm and attentive without being over the top. Definitely one of those places I’d come back to again.
