Skip the latte and start with the usucha, thin-whisked matcha that tastes nothing like the sweetened stuff. The grades on the menu assume you know the difference, and the leaves are organic, pesticide-free and bought direct from farms in Japan.
This is the brand's first Canadian shop. Standing room mostly, so don't plan on lingering over a laptop.

Really liked the matcha latte! It's quite expensive ($11 after tax for a small portion), but the quality is definitely there! there’s usually a wait on weekends.

Smashing IT! ✌️🍵✌️ Yum! Matcha Tokyo, the newest café on the block and it's already a SMASH HIT with many of the locals. Nestled along the groovy and trendy culinary road otherwise known as Ossington Avenue, Matcha Tokyo is serving some of the best signature Matcha drinks. Cakes and Ice-Cream all Matcha based! Smooth, sweet and authentic. So if you're in the mood for some great Matcha whether your own your way to work, school or taking a summer-time stroll do treat yourself to some of the delicious Matcha's and various Tea Lattes being served at The Matcha Tokyo Café your mind, your soul and your taste buds will be happy that you did.

I really appreciated my matcha even after biting my tongue at the $11 bill for Matcha water. Would love to see some coconut water matcha without foam.
