A cocktail bar hidden behind a betting shop

Bagheera hides behind a betting shop on Main Street in Chinatown, named after the panther in Kipling. Finding the right door is the whole point.

It's become a fixture on the city's cocktail bar lists since. Open from 5pm, seven days a week.

Very cool speak easy cocktail bar with beautiful decor and world building. Staff were all very attentive and kind, seating was very comfortable and the whole experience was excellent. The cocktails were very inventive and themed and they were all very different from each other. A little pricey, but very high quality ingredients and very involved crafting. The space is so beautiful and it feels very intimate yet lively in there. Will definitely return, wish they had some small bite food options to order.

If you are in the area and you love some delicious cocktails with a moody decor, this is the place for you. The entrance might seem a bit interesting as the neighbourhood has been falling apart for a while now but don’t let that deter you to go inside. You’ll find horse racing playing on a TV with names of horses to bet on. You can o my get in if you choose the correct one ;) Once you do, you’ll be seated inside. You’ll go through an area with pictures of old India and it’s quite refreshing to see that. You’ll be presented with a menu which is a Jungle book repurposed as a drinks menu. Lots of options but I fried the leopard 5/5. Also their chicken 65 is delicious.

I cannot stress how good of a bar this is. Bar scenes tend to never be my scene as I find them intimidating at times but this place welcomes you right in and makes you feel like you were supposed to be there. I regret not getting the two gentlemen’s names that attended my girlfriend and I, but their service was exceptional and made the trip out there beyond worth it.

Went here for a birthday, and everything was super unique. The menu was explained on arrival and the atomosphere was extremely cool. The food was fantastic even though it's just very small appetizers basically (came here before going to dinner so didn't matter). Drinks could have been garnished and presented more inventively but overall tasted unique. Service was mostly good, some hiccups and was a little loud making communication a little difficult sometimes. Overall definetly a 4.4, only thing holding it back really is some service inconsistencies, food portions being a little insulting, and drinks needing some more visual creativity but we had a really good time so thank you for being a good spot to get out in Van

Loved the overall experience at Bagheera! We arrived without a reservation on a Friday and ended up waiting about 20 minutes for a party of five, which honestly worked out just fine. The space has a true speakeasy feel. We were initially a bit thrown off by the horse racing and betting-themed entrance before realizing we were in the right place. Once inside, the ambience was stunning. I especially loved the creative use of jewelry as decor around the bar. Our server was great and offered thoughtful recommendations tailored to our preferences. The cocktails were well-crafted overall. While a couple were fairly standard, several really stood out, especially those with unexpected, eccentric ingredients like amchur (dry mango powder). The only downside was the music volume, which was quite loud and made it difficult to have conversations across the table. That aside, it was still a great experience overall.
