Lisbon's tart institution opens on Queen's Road
Watch the tarts come out of the oven from the street. Manteigaria runs the same open kitchen format here as it does back in Lisbon, laminated dough and all, and this summer that view lands right on Queen's Road Central.
The bakery has expanded steadily since its first shop opened in Lisbon in 2013, adding London, Madrid and Toronto before Hong Kong. Its arrival puts Central at the center of a Portuguese tart rivalry: Santa Nata sits a short walk away on Lyndhurst Terrace.
